Review: Hand on Heart Rosé

I took this product photo by the pool because that’s exactly where I want to be when I’m drinking it. This rosé is summer in a glass! I was never big on rosés when I was drinking, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying. Rosé to me is just the hot girl summer drink of choice, you know? It’s fun, it’s easy, it’s even classy, and it looks damn good in a wine glass! 

I stumbled upon this bottle during a trip to Total Wine. It was the only one left on the shelf, and I really thought it was an alcoholic rosé left there by mistake. Thankfully (for all of us), I picked it up and saw alcohol removed. I think what most caught my eye was the bottle design. It’s simple yet elegant with an eye-catching logo and a name that might pull at your heartstrings (or at the very least your curiosity). To be completely honest, to me, it looks like one of those organic wines marketed as being ‘good for you’, but in this case, it’s actually true, since there’s no alcohol in it. As it says on the cap, Hand on Heart wines are “full of heart, not alcohol” which really resonated with me.

Now let’s get to the review! First impressions – the color is very accurate! Some NA wines tend to have a slightly off putting color, but not this one. It’s a beautiful peachy, pink color. It also smells fantastic. I have been told by my mother throughout this process that NA wines have a “distinct smell” that’s not her “favorite.” So I’m happy to report that this wine passed her smell test! To me, it smells slightly fruity and a bit sweet, but neither are overwhelming. 

Taste wise – I think this is the closest rosé I’ve found to the real thing. It’s refreshing, with a touch of sweetness, but not overwhelming. It also has some sour notes, which I mean in a good way because that seems very prevalent in most alcoholic rosés I’ve tasted. All in all, I highly recommend picking up a bottle of this rosé and any other wines you find from Hand on Heart! I’ll be doing the same, so more reviews to come on that…
